Big Ideas, Big Impact: R100 000 Raised for Miracle Kidz

Community Fundraising

Bishops' Big Ideas programme challenges 25 selected Grade 9 students to dream up something truly impactful. This year, Matthew Ratcliffe and his team chose to fundraise for Miracle Kidz — a small, deserving NGO doing vital work in our community.

They started with a trail run on an olive and wine estate — a 5km fun run followed by a wine tasting — raising R10 000. They then pitched their Big Idea to the Southern Destinations team, which moved the Malachite Foundation to donate R60 000. A final presentation to CLICKS head office secured a further R30 000.

Three pitches. Three yeses. R100 000 raised.

At Malachite Foundation, we're inspired by projects rooted in family and community. Matthew and his team proved that a big idea, pursued with heart, can move people — and make a real difference.
